HZDR
Dresden, Germany
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf e.V. (HZDR) is a multi-disciplinary research centre with about 1000 employees, structured into 8 institutes. As a member of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres it carries out research in the fields of health, energy and matter.
HZDR operates three user facilities, the ELBE-Center for High-power Radiation Sources (ELBE), the High Magnetic Field Laboratory Dresden
(HLD) and the Ion Beam Center (IBC). ELBE provides a large portfolio of radiation sources ranging from THz radiation provided by an IR FEL and a superradiant THz sources to neutrons and positrons, electrons on air and Bremsstrahlung to high power laser radiation. HLD is a member of the ESFRI LAndmark EMFL and is able to offer access to pulsed high magnetic fields of close to 100 T. The IBC serves a huge user community requesting ion beam modification, ion beam analysis as well as accelerator mass spectrometry.
